Two London breaks for next year - either staying in town and hopping out for your golf games, and secondly staying just on the outskirts of town, so you’re nearer to all the golf, and can then pop in by train or car for all the city centre sightseeing & nightlife.

 

We’ve based this on a 6 night break, with 4 rounds of golf included – which will give visitors two clear days for sightseeing -with one full day in London and one day exploring the wonderful countryside, including perhaps Oxford, Stonehenge and the Cotswolds.

Here’s our recommended package for pure golf links enthusiasts to enjoy a wonderful week exploring England’s Atlantic Links courses in South West England. This tour combines some stunning scenery, a cluster of superb & natural links, and some first class hotels.

 

We have been appointed by the premier links courses in this unique region as their chosen golf operator to help promote them, which we’re honoured to do so. This really is an enchanting region to visit and it delivers on so many levels, so do try and push this if you can – everyone who’s done the Atlantic Links tour over the past year has come back and given it the ‘wow’ factor and told us they will definitely return and can’t believe it’s not mentioned in the same breath as the classic golf regions in Scotland…but without the crowds so even better !

 

In addition to the thrilling golf, there’s lots for any non golfers to enjoy in each region, from those delightful Cornish villages to unique attractions such as The Eden Project. (See our sightseeing links below).

 

We’d suggest heading straight down to Cornwall on arrival. With many direct international flights to Bristol & Exeter, this would be the quickest way to access the region.

 

Your first stop for 3 nights is the delightful Metropole Hotel, perched above the pretty seaside port of Padstow. Padstow is a sheer delight and the perfect place to stay for your first few nights. Fishing boats combine with trendy boutiques, bars, restaurants and galleries to offer a bit of everything. It is literally full of many great bars & restaurants, and you can walk to them all from your hotel. The Metropole is also the first hotel you come to as you enter the town, with free parking for residents, which is a big bonus for this ever-popular village. We can save you approximately £20 each by staying at a smaller hotel nearby – Long Cross (see web link http://www.atlantic-links.co.uk/hotel_longcross.htm).

 

Peace, tranquillity, seclusion and yet within easy striking distance of Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Rock beaches and Port Isaac. You’ll be able to enjoy the majestic links at St Enodoc while staying here (see golf descriptions underneath), and the wild windswept links at Trevose, host to the Brabazon Trophy (English Amateur Championships) in 2008.

 

Your next two nights will be in Devon at the stylish Norbury House Hotel in the charming coastal village of Ilfracombe. Your hosts at Norbury House – Adam and Paula fell in love with Ilfracombe and this lovingly restored Victorian Gentleman’s residence, and transformed it to provide stylish, yet comfortable guest house. Great panoramic views over open countryside, stunning coastal walks and just a 10 minute stroll to the picturesque harbour and acclaimed Damien Hirst restaurant, The Quay, makes this the perfect place to stay.

 

You’ll be playing either the acclaimed East or West course at Saunton, rated by Nick Faldo as the best course in Britain not to have staged a Britsh Open, as well as a game at Royal North Devon – the oldest golf course in England, with its unique collection of golfing memorabilia in the clubhouse -  a must visit !

 

After 2 nights here, your final night will be at the charming Woodlands Country House Hotel, just a couple of miles away from Burnham & Berrow. A lovely South African couple took over this 14 bed hotel a year ago and have transformed it into what can best be described as a boutique hotel in the country – great rooms, great art on the walls, and wonderful food together with an excellent South African wine list ! We have included dinner in your package here, all other hotels will be on B&B basis.

 

So, with a game on the the towering sand dunes at Burnham & Berrow to complete your week, we think this is a fantastic tour with a great mix of first class hotels, superb links golf, and a stunning part of the country to discover. Not bad for a week’s holiday !

Here’s our recommended package for golfers to enjoy a wonderful tour of England’s North West coast, otherwise known as England’s Golf Coast ! This area has the largest concentration of British Open courses of anywhere in the UK, and there are also another dozen first class links courses all nearby.

 

Five wonderful games of golf arranged (have included descriptors below). One of the unique attractions of playing golf on England’s ‘Golf Coast’ is that all these unique and wonderful links courses are all so close together so, minimum time driving and maximum time pitting your wits against nature and the elements !

Here’s our recommended Kent package, another particular favourite region close to our hearts (and homes !), which works wonderfully well on its own, or in combination with a London package. You can be on the Kent coast within two hours from London, so clients could even nip down for a couple of days if staying in London, to play a couple of these Open Championship courses.
