Paradise
Palms Golf Course in Far North Queensland has been given
the promotional opportunity of a lifetime - it has been
chosen as the feature Australian golf course in the 2005
edition of Microsoft US's annual PC golf game
"Links".
Microsoft
began filming at Paradise Palms last week in preparation
for the production of the 2005 edition which will be
released late 2004. The filming takes place over next
nine days until November 8.
Paradise
Palms was chosen from a field of prestigious Australian
courses including finalists, The National Golf Course in
Victoria, Bonville Golf Course in New South Wales and
Joondalup Golf Course in WA.
The
golf course will provide fantastic exposure for Paradise
Palms as Microsoft sells more than 3 million copies of
the game each year. The golf course will also receive
regular exposure on Microsoft's Links website,
www.linkscountryclub.com from early next year through to
the game's release late 2004.
This
coverage will include the video footage shot during the
current visit and links to the Paradise Palms website.
Michael
Waters, Sales and Marketing Manager of Paradise Palms
said the selection by Microsoft represented an
incredible opportunity to put Paradise Palms on the
international golf course map.
"We
already enjoy good support from the many international
travelers who come to Far North Queensland, but this is
a rare opportunity and one which you could normally only
dream about," said Mr Waters.
"The
promotional value of this opportunity to both Paradise
Palms and Far North Queensland is tremendous. It is also
a credit to the outstanding work of the maintenance
staff who keep the course in exceptional condition all
year round."
